Ridley Hall Room 206 supports two presentation options: Wireless sharing using Zoom Rooms and Wired laptop sharing via HDMI and USB. This article explains how to use each option, what functionality is available, and where to get support from the Educational Technologies Office (ETO).

Use this option for screen sharing only.

Steps

  1. On the Zoom Room panel, select Share.
  2. Open the Zoom application on your laptop.
  3. If your meeting was scheduled using the room scheduler:
    • Select Share in the Zoom application.
  4. If your meeting was not scheduled using the room scheduler:
    • Select Share in the Zoom application.
    • Enter the Room Code displayed on the Zoom panel.
  5. Begin sharing your screen.

🔌 Option 2: Wired Laptop Connection (HDMI + USB)

Use this option for full AV functionality.

Steps

  1. Touch anywhere on the touch panel to wake the system.
  2. Locate the HDMI and USB cables to the right of the credenza.
  3. Connect both HDMI and USBto your laptop.
    • USB adapters are available for checkout from ETO (Ridley 121) if required.
  4. On the touch panel, select Laptop.
  5. In your meeting software (Zoom, Teams, etc.), select the room camera and microphone.
    • If using a USB adapter on Windows, the audio output may appear as:
      “Crestron (3‑HD Audio Driver for Display Audio)”
  6. Adjust audio and camera settings as needed.

⚠️ Important Notes
  • Wireless (Zoom Rooms) is display‑only and does not support microphones or cameras.
  • For wired use, both HDMI and USB must be connected for audio, camera, and mic.
  • Camera and audio controls are available on the room system (see posted instructions).
  • Verify the correct devices are selected in your conferencing software.

1️⃣ No Image on Display

  • Confirm Laptop is selected on the touch panel.
  • Ensure HDMI is securely connected.

2️⃣ No Audio or Microphone

  • Verify the USB cable is connected.
  • In your app, select the room audio device (Windows may show Crestron (3‑HD Audio Driver for Display Audio)).

3️⃣ Camera Not Available

  • Wireless sharing does not support cameras.
  • Switch to Wired (Laptop) and reselect the camera in your app.

4️⃣ Zoom Will Not Share Wirelessly

  • Reopen Zoom and reselect Share.
  • Re-enter the Room Code if prompted.
